What is a DTF transfer?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are full-color heat transfers that can be applied to a wide variety of garments and fabrics using a heat press.

They are great for T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tote bags, uniforms, and custom apparel.

What fabrics can I use DTF transfers on?

DTF transfers work well on many materials, including:

  • Cotton

  • Polyester

  • Cotton/poly blends

  • Canvas

  • Many light and dark-colored garments

We recommend performing a test press when using specialty or heat-sensitive fabrics.

What file type should I upload?

For the best results, we recommend a high-resolution PNG file with a transparent background at 300 DPI.

Your artwork should be clean, properly sized, and ready to print.

Do I need to mirror my artwork?

No. Please do not mirror your artwork.

Upload your design in its normal, readable orientation unless the product page specifically says otherwise.

What resolution should my artwork be?

We recommend 300 DPI for the best print quality.

Low-resolution or pixelated artwork may result in a lower-quality transfer.

Can you remove the background from my artwork?

Artwork should preferably be submitted with a transparent background.

If your file requires editing, cleanup, or background removal, please contact us before ordering to confirm whether artwork assistance is available.

What is a DTF gang sheet?

A DTF gang sheet allows you to place multiple designs on one larger sheet.

Gang sheets are a great option for apparel businesses, bulk orders, multiple logos, and customers looking to maximize printing space.

Can I upload my own completed gang sheet?

Yes. If you already have a print-ready gang sheet, you can upload it using the appropriate gang sheet product.

Please make sure your file matches the sheet size selected when ordering and that all designs fit inside the print area.

What temperature should I use to press my transfer?

Our recommended starting settings are:

  • Temperature: 300–310°F

  • Time: Approximately 15 seconds

  • Pressure: Medium to firm

  • Peel: Allow to cool for approximately 10–15 seconds

  • Second Press: 5–10 seconds

Because heat presses can vary, we recommend performing a test press whenever possible.

Can I use a household iron?

For the most consistent results, we strongly recommend using a professional heat press.

A household iron may not provide the consistent temperature and pressure needed for proper DTF application.

How should I wash garments with DTF transfers?

For longer-lasting results:

  • Wait at least 24 hours before washing

  • Wash the garment inside out

  • Use cold or warm water

  • Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals

  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry

  • Do not iron directly over the transfer

Will the printed colors exactly match my screen?

Not always.

Colors may appear slightly different depending on screen brightness, monitor settings, file color profiles, fabric color, and printing conditions.

We work to produce bright, vibrant, professional colors, but exact screen-to-print matching cannot always be guaranteed.

Can I change my order after it is placed?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a change.

Because custom orders may enter production quickly, changes or cancellations are not guaranteed once production has started.

Do you accept returns on custom DTF transfers?

Because DTF transfers and gang sheets are custom-made products, they are generally non-returnable and non-refundable unless the order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect due to an error on our part.

How long does shipping take?

Processing time and shipping time are separate.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information. Delivery time will depend on the shipping method selected at checkout and the carrier.

What if my package arrives damaged?

Please contact us as soon as possible with:

  • Your order number

  • Photos of the damaged product

  • Photos of the packaging

  • A short description of the issue

We will review the situation and help determine the appropriate resolution.

Do you offer bulk or large DTF orders?

Yes. We can accommodate larger DTF transfer and gang sheet orders depending on production requirements.
